Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for trainers who are confident leading sessions, building relationships, and helping clients make progress over time—not just counting reps.
Ideal candidates are:
Passionate about strength training, health, and helping people improve their lives
Professional, dependable, and self-motivated
Strong communicators who can connect with a wide variety of clients
Comfortable coaching both beginners and more experienced members
Willing to build relationships, retain clients, and grow their book of business
Committed to creating a positive, welcoming, and encouraging training environment
Excited to be part of a team while also taking ownership of their own success
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered, applicants must hold at least one nationally recognized personal training certification or equivalent credential.
Accepted certifications include:
NASM
ACE
NSCA-CSCS
ACSM
ISSA
Or another comparable nationally recognized certification
Additional education or experience in strength and conditioning, corrective exercise, sports performance, rehab-adjacent fitness, semi-private coaching, or group training is a plus.
Compensation
Our current trainer compensation model includes:
55% commission on all revenue generated from your training clients
For most training sessions and program formats, that typically works out to roughly $30–$35+ per coaching hour, depending on session length, package structure, and service type
The ability to grow your income by building and retaining your own client base
Support from Six20 in helping generate leads, onboard clients, and market yourself professionally
Opportunity for compensation growth as the role and training department continue to expand
If you’re the kind of coach who is willing to build relationships, deliver a great client experience, and take ownership of your growth, there is real opportunity here.
What It’s Like to Work Here
Six20 is not a big-box gym where trainers are left on an island. We care about coaching quality, client experience, and building something people are proud to be part of.
We believe in:
Coaching people, not just writing workouts
Creating an encouraging but hard-working culture
Building trust with clients through consistency and professionalism
Giving trainers the tools and support to build a long-term career
Helping coaches develop their own niche and style while contributing to the larger Six20 mission
We want coaches who take ownership, care about people, and want to be part of a gym that is actively growing.
Who We Serve
Our trainers work with a wide range of clients and have the opportunity to build a niche around the populations they enjoy serving most. Depending on your experience and interests, that may include:
General fitness and strength clients
Weight loss and body composition clients
Beginners who need structure, confidence, and accountability
Athletes looking to improve performance
Adults who want to move better, feel better, and stay consistent
